1. Who we are
Personal Loans operates this website as a marketing referral service for consumers in the United States who are looking at personal loan options. Personal Loans is not a lender, bank or credit union and does not make credit decisions. We are a marketing referral service that connects consumers with third-party lenders and lending partners. We do not charge consumers a fee for this service. Rates, terms, amounts and eligibility are set by the lender, not by us, and are subject to the lender's own review. Not all consumers who submit a request will be matched with a lender. Availability varies by state. This site does not constitute an offer or solicitation to lend.
2. Information you give us
When you complete the request form we collect the amount range you select, the purpose of the loan, how you earn income, an income range, optionally how long you have lived at your address, and your name, email address, mobile telephone number and ZIP code. When you write to us through the contact page we collect your name, email address, optional phone number and the content of your message.
3. Information collected automatically
Our servers and analytics vendors record your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, the pages you view and the times you view them. We honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser and treat them as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
4. Consent to be contacted
The consent box on the request form is never pre-checked. When you tick it we record the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time in UTC, your IP address and your browser string, and we retain that record so that both you and our partners can see what was agreed.
Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You may withdraw it at any time by writing to hello@personalloanschoice.com, by replying STOP to a text message, or by telling the partner directly.
5. Who receives your information
We share the details you submit with lending partners and their agents whose criteria match your answers, with service providers that host this site and deliver our email, and with advisers or authorities where the law requires it. We do not share your information with anyone outside the lending network, and we do not add you to open marketing lists.
Because we receive a referral fee, this sharing is treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under several state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share page.
6. How long we keep it
Request records and their consent evidence are retained for the period required to answer disputes and satisfy record-keeping obligations, and are then deleted. Contact-page messages are kept while the conversation is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.
7. Your choices
Depending on where you live you may have the right to know what we hold about you, to receive a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be treated differently for exercising any of these rights. Write to hello@personalloanschoice.com or use the opt-out page. We verify identity before acting on a request about a specific record.
8. Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, write to us and we will remove it.
9. Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. Stored records are access-restricted. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not promise that it is.
