Payment estimator
Estimate your payments before anyone estimates them at you
Move the three sliders and see what a loan would cost across its life.
How your inputs change the payment
- A larger amount raises the monthly payment and the total interest
- A longer period lowers the monthly payment but raises the total interest
- A higher rate raises both, and it moves the total faster than the payment
What will my actual payment be?
Nobody on this site can tell you that. The figures above are arithmetic on numbers you typed in yourself, not an offer and not a rate available to you.
Your real rate is set by the lender after they look at your credit profile, your income and the length you pick. Fees are not included here either. Ask for all of it in writing before you sign.
Set the rate slider somewhere honest rather than somewhere hopeful. The span shown reflects the range personal loan APRs commonly fall within across the US market.
What you can count on from us
No promises we cannot keep
You will never read a decision or a rate here as though it were already yours. Those belong to a lender, in writing.
Consent that means something
The box is never pre-checked and never buried. If you did not tick it, nobody calls you.
One form, not eight
You answer once. Your request goes to the partners whose criteria line up with your answers, not to everyone.
The exit is always visible
Close the tab mid-form and nothing is recorded. Already sent it? One email ends the routing.
Before you sign
Six things worth checking on any offer
Whatever comes back to you, from us or from anywhere else, these are the lines that decide what it really costs.
| What to check | Why it matters | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| APR, not just the rate | The APR folds in mandatory upfront charges, so it is the number that reflects what borrowing really costs over a year. | Top of the lender's written disclosure, stated as an annual percentage rate. |
| Origination charge | Often deducted from the money before it reaches you, so a $5,000 loan can arrive as less than $5,000. | Fee schedule. Ask what lands in your account, not what the paperwork says you borrowed. |
| Total repaid | A low monthly payment across a long period can cost far more than a higher payment across a short one. | Multiply the payment by the number of months, or ask the lender to state it. |
| Early payoff terms | Some lenders charge you for paying ahead of schedule, which removes your least costly way out. | Look for prepayment language in the loan agreement. |
| Late and returned-payment charges | These are where a manageable loan turns unmanageable after one bad month. | Fee schedule, usually near the end of the agreement. |
| When money actually arrives | Timing varies by lender and by your bank. Plan around the real date, not the advertised one. | Ask directly and get the answer in writing before you sign. |

Frequently asked personal loan questions
What is a personal loan?
It is money a lender gives you in one lump sum, which you pay back in fixed monthly instalments over an agreed number of months. Most are unsecured, meaning no house or car is pledged against them. The interest rate is usually fixed, so the payment does not move.
How much can I request through this site?
The short form covers ranges from $500 up past $10,000. Where you land depends on the lender you are matched with, your income and your credit profile. We pass along the range you pick; the lender sets the real number.
What does using Personal Loans cost me?
Nothing. Lending partners pay us when we send them a request that fits what they are looking for. You are never billed by us, and you are never obligated to accept anything a lender puts in front of you.
Who will contact me after I send the form?
Up to five participating lenders or their agents, using the phone number and email you gave us. They may call, text or email. If you would rather they stopped, tell them directly or write to us and we will remove you from further routing.
What if my credit history is rough?
Plenty of lenders work with thin or damaged credit files, and they price that risk into the rate. We do not screen you out before you start. We also do not promise a decision, a rate or an amount, because those belong to the lender.
How quickly does money reach my account?
That is the lender's process, not ours. Some move within one business day after paperwork is signed; others take longer, especially when they ask for income documents. Ask the lender directly and get the timing in writing.
Do you sell my information?
We share the details you submit with the lending partners matched to your answers, and we are paid for that referral. That is the whole business model, stated plainly. You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information at any time from our Do Not Sell page.
Is a personal loan the right move for me?
Sometimes it is not. Borrowing costs money, and at higher rates it can cost a great deal. Use the payment estimator on this page, put in a realistic rate, and look at the total against what you would pay by other means. A nonprofit credit counselor can give you a second opinion at no charge.

Nothing to pay to start, no obligation at the end, and you can stop halfway through without leaving a trace.
Important disclosures
The amounts shown on this page describe the range this request form covers. They are not an offer, not a commitment to lend, and not a statement of what any lender will extend to you. Eligibility, amount, rate, charges and repayment length are determined by the lender after reviewing your information, and availability varies by state.
The payment estimator performs standard amortisation arithmetic on the three values you set with the sliders. It does not read your credit file, it does not reflect any rate offered to you, and it excludes charges a lender may add. Treat its output as an illustration and nothing more.
You must be at least 18 years old and a United States resident to submit a request. Borrowing money costs money, and at higher rates it can cost a great deal. Read every disclosure a lender gives you before signing, and consider speaking with a nonprofit credit counselor if you want a second opinion first.
